Form of governance – Supervisor candidate (and current Trustee) Mike Bailey position

I am a strong advocate of our form of Township government which supports a Township Manager with extensive formal education, knowledge and experience of municipal government to administer day-to-day operations as defined in Ordinance 97, item a through o and reporting to the Township Board of Trustees. A significant advantage of the Township Manager form is that the Board of Trustees has control to either reward the Manager or immediately fire him/her if the Board determines the Manager is not performing to requirements. The strong supervisor form of governance does not offer easy removal of a supervisor who is not performing to requirements because his removal can only be done by the Recall procedure which is costly and time consuming or by being defeated in the subsequent election.

Mike Bailey
