IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE 2020 OAKLAND TOWNSHIP CANDIDATES, PLEASE GO TO THE TOP OF THIS WEBPAGE – PLACE YOUR CURSOR OVER “2020 ELECTION CANDIDATES” – A DROP DOWN MENU WILL APPEAR WHERE YOU CAN REVIEW INFORMATION ON EACH OF THE CANDIDATES.
The 2020 Primary elections are scheduled for August 4, 2020. At that time, Oakland Township residents will have an opportunity to select the Democratic and Republican candidates that will be on the November General Election ballot.
The positions on the August and November ballots include the Township Board officers and Trustees, as well as the Parks Commission members. Historically, there have been very few Democratic candidates for the positions, so the August primary effectively determined the elected officials. This year, we have two Democratic candidate running for positions. As a result, both your August and November votes will play a roll determining our Township Leadership team.
We have solicited input from the candidates on their qualifications, priorities and goals, as well as changes they would like to see made (if any) if they are elected. Many of the candidates for the contested positions have provided their information. For those who have not, we have included a list of previous posts that documented their past actions as Township officials.
